School holidays - it’s a wrap!
It’s been a long three and a half weeks, and the kids are back at school for Term 3 - wahoo! Here’a a little of what we’ve been up to…
It was all hands on deck to prepare for our stall at the Bello Markets. Mum and Dad came down for the weekend to help wrangle the kids. We had a few blissful hours of picking fruit and unearthing ginger and turmeric in the winter sunshine…. the washing and preparation part after that wasn’t so blissful, but we got there in the end… thanks family!
We did some baking - two versions of Isaac’s favourite ‘muesli bar’ from Lola Berry’s Summer Food. In version one we replaced the almond butter with cacao and hazelnut spread (i.e. expensive Nutella) and swapped out the dried blueberries and cranberries for sultanas. In version two we took out the fruit altogether, as per Isaac’s instruction. Both versions worked a treat :O)
We went on some adventures… first at The Promised Land where we tested the limits of our new gumboots…
… and then further a field with a trip up the mountain to Ebor Falls and on to the New England National Park. We picked out some camping spots for when it warms up (i.e. not 6 degrees like it was when we visited) and were in awe of the amazing views from the lookouts and walking tracks. This one reminded me of a scene from Alice in Wonderland - it did feel a little bit magical.
We tried out our new juicer (so excited to have this for summer!), designed tree houses, hung out with Lily and Brumby, our tenants here at The Lost Paddock (they got A LOT of carrots and apples) and went to see Cruella (love, love, loved it!).
And now… DON’T MISS THAT SCHOOL BUS, KIDS!!
